Countries: Dominica

Dominica is an island country in the Caribbean. It is part of the Windward Islands chain in the Lesser Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean Sea.

Stone age tribes, the Igneri, an indigenous Arawak people from the Orinoco, first populate the island.

The Arawak are thought to have originated in the Orinoco River basin in Venezuela.

The sisserou parrot, also known as the imperial amazon, is critically endangered and found only on Dominica. It is the island's national bird and is featured on the national flag, making Dominica one of only two sovereign nations whose official flag features the color purple.

The sons of Noah who came out of the ark, which came to rest on the mountains of Ararat following the great flood (c. 2100 BC) were Shem, Ham and Japheth from whom came all the nations of the earth.

Ham's descendants went to Africa and Southern Arabia, Shem's descendants to Mesopotamia and northern Arabia, and Japeth descendants to Asia Minor and Europe.

The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

The first three sons of Ham are traditionally seen as the ancestors of African peoples.
